Narcissus portrait
Narcissus portrait
I will always remember my first encounter with a narcissus (Daffodil) in Sweden. It was early spring, and the vibrant yellow blooms welcomed me with cheer. I used to overlook these flowers, but I now embrace them as the first signs of spring. As I delved into flower farming, I discovered the diverse range of hues that narcissus come in, from white and cream to bright yellow and almost orange.
This particular Narcissus was photographed on Easter morning in 2020. After the pandemic began, I had been neglecting the farm because my son had just been born. After making breakfast for my family, I ventured outside and stumbled upon a delightful surprise - a bunch of stunning Narcissus blooming in one of our flowerbeds. I had forgotten I planted them the previous fall. They cheered me so much that I couldn't resist bringing some of them indoors to brighten up our home.
Among them, I was particularly drawn to a narcissus. Its white outer petals and creamy, peachy center made it look like an earthly star. The blossom was so lovely, alive, and beautiful. The white petals shimmered with light, and I just had to make sure I remembered this blossom for years to come. I hope its beauty and warmth envelop you the way it did to me four years ago.
